Later today, September 20, 2019, Washington Street will be reopened to traffic. The 9,200 daily motorists who use this important major street will see many safety improvements along with a new paved surface. New all-way STOP sign controls have been placed at the intersection of Washington and Stewart Streets. The City advises motorists to be aware of this control change and proceed with due caution as they make their way through the intersection. The new street marking layout simplifies lane assignments for motorists. Bicycle lanes have been added to accommodate that mode of traffic. The project was done with the cooperation and participation of the federal government, MDOT, and the City of Owosso. We all appreciate your patience as we worked on the road for the last several months.
