UNDER BODY CUTTING EDGES
The city of Owosso is accepting quotes for the purchase of (12) single carbide insert cutting edges, Kennametal #PB-760H, or equal. Contact Mark Mitchell, DPW Superintendent at (989) 725-0556, Monday through Friday 7 AM to 3:30 PM for questions.
Blade: The blade shall be flat hot-rolled finished SAE 1020 or equal, 7/8” thick x 5” wide x 60” (5’) long, beveled on top edge, square ends, painted, without bolts. Punching shall be 11/16” square holes with countersink to receive 5/8” diameter plow bolts with location of holes in accordance with state highway standard (3”, 3” and 12” centers”). The groove for the carbide inserts shall be milled in the center of the blade edge. Center of holes shall be in line within 1/32” of established centerline.
Braze: High strength alloy material with shear strength of 30,000 psi min.
Tungsten carbide inserts: Trapezoid design, 5/8” high x 3/8” wide, with a 25 degree bottom angle, of virgin quality, density 14.1 – 14.6 g/cu.cm., hardness 87.5 – 89.0 HRA, transverse rupture strength 300,000 – 400,000 psi.
