On Friday, September 16, 2016, police officers from across Shiawassee County and community members will come together in an informal, neutral place to discuss community issues, build relationships and enjoy ice cream.

All community members are invited to attend. The event begins at 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Cone Zone, 300 N. Water in Owosso. Please contact community police officer Officer Mike Olsey with questions: 989-725-0580, michael.olsey@ci.owosso.mi.us for more information.

Cone with a Cop provides a unique opportunity for community members to ask questions and learn more about the work police officers do in communities throughout Shiawassee County.

The majority of contacts law enforcement has with the public happen during emergencies, or emotional situations. Those situations are not always the most effective times for relationship building with the community.  Cone with a Cop breaks down barriers and allows for a relaxed, one-on-one interaction between law enforcement and the community.

The program aims to advance the practice of community policing through improving relationships between police officers and area residents.
