Medical Marihuana Facilities Licensing Workshop
Saturday, October 21, 2017
10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
City Hall, council chambers
The Owosso Planning Commission held a public workshop on September 28th to inform the community of the new Medical Marihuana Facilities Licensing Act. While more than 40 people came to the workshop, only 15 were from the city of Owosso. Planning commission, as well as city staff, encourages you to come to the second meeting on October 21, 2017 because your input is still needed. The intent of the workshop is to inform the community about the Medical Marihuana Facilities Licensing Act and determine if the citizens of Owosso want to allow any of the licenses under the new act and determine where and how many.
An ordinance must be adopted by city council authorizing the type(s) of license(s) allowed if a city decides it wants any of them. Likewise, a city can decide to opt out and not allow any of the licenses. Please come to the workshop and learn what those licenses are and tell us if you want Owosso to allow or prohibit any of these licenses.
